We looked at shapes as "building blocks" of our world, and made a mural using pictures we created from shape cut outs. We also practiced putting shapes together as puzzles, and learned that there might be many different ways to create the same puzzle. Some of the mathematical concepts that we are working with include developing language to describe and compare 2-D shapes and their attributes, relating 2-D shapes to real world objects, and describing shapes by their attributes. We also compose and decompose 2-D shapes, and explore mathematical materials.
